Business is in my blood. I watched my father leave behind an 18-year career at GM to take a leap of faith and build his own business. I saw firsthand the dedication, the long hours, the risks—and the rewards—of owning a business.
I started working in my family’s business at a young age, learning the grit and grind of entrepreneurship firsthand. From washing dishes and scrubbing tents in the Louisiana heat to making deliveries and setting up for massive events, I learned there’s no substitute for hard work and hustle.
Later in life, I started my own equipment rental business in Shreveport, which has been a big success for me and my family. We even had the honor of setting up for the Super Bowl in Dallas and the National Championship in New Orleans. Running my own business gave me an inside look at what it means to lead, grow, and eventually exit a company.
In 2007, I watched my father sell his business—and saw firsthand what happens when a seller carries too much risk. He financed too much of the deal, and my father got burned when the buyer mismanaged the business and had to file for bankruptcy.
That moment stuck with me.
That’s when I knew—I wanted to become a business broker who actually protects sellers and ensures they walk away with the best deal possible.
